Our brand new ICT Electrical Operative Course will shake up the UK IT Industry and involve specialist training for those who work with ICT Cabinets.

A UK Government Registered, and City & Guilds accredited course which is approved by NAPIT, the National Association of Professional Inspectors & Testers has been launched by GNC Electrics.

The five-day course, which includes the 18th Edition of IEE Wiring regs (BS7671), the qualification is aimed at IT/Network Engineers and open to Electricians, Level 3 qualified or those who have suitable experience.

Benefits include saving time and costs

The major benefit being that the engineer will be able to commission and self-certify the installation from an electrical perspective, removing the need for contracting an electrician, saving both time and costs.

Once qualified, the engineer will be registered into the NAPIT ICT Electrical Operative Scheme for 12 months and enjoy full NAPIT Membership benefits.

And, the engineer will be qualified to undertake the following activities, in accordance with British Standards BS7671, when working with ICT cabinets and or ICT installations;

  1. Connect the Earth cables to the cabinet and any equipment.
  2. Connect the PDU to the main power supply.
  3. Confirm safe isolation is available.
  4. Test and Inspect the cabinet and provide an electrical safety certificate.
